Projektbeschreibung

The aim of this proposal is to assess the clinical association of serum creatine kinase levels and stages of sarcopenia in people >65 years old in a cross-sectional study. Evaluation of sarcopenic stages in geriatric patients will be performed using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). The level of serum creatine kinase will be monitored in a clinical lab. We also will establish a unique collection of specimens from a rigorously characterized geriatric cohort available at the RWTH centralized biomaterial bank (cBMB).
